Dog Dayz || Blackburg Virginia Family Portraits

I think she finally got sick of all the attention being focused on the kids.  So she made a statement. And her statement makes me smile.

I’m editing away, behind on everything (blogging at the top of the list) but just wanted to share this shot.  HA! (and i’ll blog furreals soon).

Honor || Roanoke Virginia Newborn Photography

I always take it seriously when I’m invited into a home to spend time with a brand new baby.  We take pictures within the first 2 weeks of a new ones life, and to me, there is maybe no more magical a time in the life of a family.  And for someone to invite me in to share and capture it, is a compete honor.

And meeting Mr. G and his parents was *absolutely* an honor.   Their sense of humor, the intimate nature of their family…. was unique and beautiful.  I enjoyed every minute i was there.  And i adore the moments we captured…

And i can’t share from this session without mentioning the dogs.  Because they were funny and fun, and i might just have to invite myself back over and do a dogs only session.  Oh, and they have 5 dogs.  And the last one they got wanna know what they call him?  One Dog Too Many.  Um, I’ve laughed about that many times since i left their home.  And One Dog Too Many is featured below (and i do think he has a proper name…:).

Hope everyone had a wonderful and safe Halloween and i’ll be back around later this week!

Beautiful Babes || Blacksburg Virginia Photography

Phew.  This week has been nuts, and i managed to lock myself out of my website on the ONE office day i had (because i’m brilliant like that, lol…).

I want to share a few images from a session last week — and this family is *so* lovely, and i’ve gotten to know them well through a few sessions now.  I know they’d prefer to see a peek that hear me gush, so here is your peek W family.  Your babies are sooooooooo sweet and beautiful…

And i’m off to meet a brand new baby boy this morning… Gah, i love newborn sessions!

Family for a Cause || Blacksburg Virginia Family Portraits

Many of you all know that i have the privilege of support an organization called NRV Cares each year at their annual Gala.  At the Gala, they raise money to protect and advocate for children of the NRV and to assist in educating our community against child abuse.  Its a cause that over the years has been increasingly important to me personally, and one I am proud to help support!

At the 2011 Gala, this lovely family won my donation in the auction via a very generous donation.  It was my honor to work with these guys for a second time — they are such a joyous and talented and  honorable family.   Thank you 4 (ok, 6 and a half this year:)) for a lovely evening and i hope you love your images!

I have a crazy week ahead… 2 newborns to shoot this week, 2 families this weekend, and a pile of editing and ordering.  And i think my kids may want dinner once or twice too!

Class of 2012 || Virginia Senior Portraits

Well.  I can say a lot about this lovely young high school senior.  She is beautiful.  She is smart.  She is funny.  And, she’s one of those young people in my life that i hope to catch a glimpse of  in about 10 years because i cannot WAIT to see who she’ll become…  She not only has “IT”, but she gets “IT” too, and she’s got an aaaaaaah-mazing future in front of her.   And it was my privilege to be a part of her Today.

And i wanted to share these with you because i LOVE the diversity of shots you can get in Blacksburg/Christiansburg in a matter of 2 hours!  Check it out….

Oh… and the star.  LOVE these….

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!  I’ll see you soon!
