oh, i love their spirit || Blacksburg Virginia Family Photography

i love my girls.

plain and simply.  i love them.

Miss C celebrated the Cat in the Hat at school on Friday. The picture below (which my husband says is not so flattering, lol…) shows you how she looked going to school.  and yes, she made the bow tie and hat.

Miss C

Well, she popped off the bus on Friday afternoon with a slightly squashed hat, but pretty much looking the same. While we were still in the driveway, our conversation went something like this:

Miss C:       Mom, the third graders were laughing at me in the hallway.

Me:           Oh sweetie.  I’m so sorry.  Did you take your hat and bow tie off? **insert sinking mom heart**

Miss C:      No, why would I?  I wore them all day.

I suspect i don’t have to tell you about the big giant hug i gave her after the conversation.  Or how proud i am that my first grader did what she wanted and didn’t cave to peer pressure.  And i probably don’t have to mention that i think she’s the coolest nerdy first grader ever born…..

Oh.  And then there’s Miss S.  I got a new piece of gear recently (if you care, its a 580EX Flash.  i mean, i would care, but i’m a gear dork that way;).  I asked Miss S to step outside with me so i could practice with it.  It was full sun — about 2pm in the afternoon.  And here is the shot she gave me.  She’s just magic, plain and simple.  And i though i would  share._mg_57331

Talk to you guys again in a bit!
