Two years into their marriage, these 2 are still gushing over each other.  Its undeniable.  And soooo incredibly lovely to be around.   Happy and in love.  Gah, how wonderful!!?!  Thanks Lauren and Rory for spending an evening with me!  It was so much fun… and the milkshake was *yummy*!!!

I was honored to photograph this tiny girl and her mama  (who is a fabulous photographer in town — Hi Natalie!) and i may have made her wait longer than i should have for this peek.  But i know she’s been busy staring at the new little life she created.  ::sigh::   And i have to start with one of my absolute fav’s…

Oh, and last week, i had the opportunity to meet a wonderful little man.  Mr. N is so handsome at 10 days new and was *such* a little gentleman!  I so enjoyed my time with him.  And have a real soft spot for babies with hair and his was the BEST… yum.

Well, at the beginning of the session with this little man, i told his parents all of the above.  Prepared them as best as i can.  And well, Little N must have been listening, and decided to prove me wrong.  and i LOVE it.  he was a dream to photograph, and his parents make me laugh and want to hang out with them more.

Anyway, look at this adorable happy little man.  He’s awesome.

Happy Halloweeeeen Everyone!   It will be busy in my world for the next few days, to include a shoot i’m super excited about ON Halloween!  YAY!

She makes me think of my girls when they were little.  She has a spirit that i adore.  And a face i want to squeeze.   And she does not take a bad photo.  During our session, she was quite focused and quite serious, and you’ll see — that translates to a stunning photo of her.

First, this little family is so sweet, and settling in beautifully as a family of four.  Their daughter has quickly become friends of my girls, and i always love when i get to transition clients into friends!  Thanks to the L Family for inviting me in and being such wonderful clients… and friends!

And this next session was with the Littlest Hero’s Project , which is an organization i’ve been involved with for quite some time.  And it has let me to many beautiful families and children.  Miss T was no exception, and i so enjoyed my morning with her!  We were rocking out in a field (while she watched her mother and i make fools of ourselves!) to her favorite Pandora station on her mom’s Blackberry (and in case you wondered, i LURV Pandora and my favorite 2 stations at the moment are G Love and Glen Hansard & Marketa Irglova ).

And this little man was so sweet….. and… FAST.  Toddlers tend to be fast.  Like, REALLY fast, lol….   When he was reading to me, he kept handing me books to read to him.  And well, his books are written in Mandarin, so i was of little to no help to him!

And i have to finish with a family shot that i just love.  Really love.  And they haven’t seen this version yet.   But i’m delivering the print of it to them tomorrow, so don’t tell them you saw it first, ok?  I’m also practicing my incomplete sentences.  How am.  I doing?

And now, a couple of sneak peeks!  First, i had the joy of photographing these 2 kiddos from Wytheville  a couple of years ago, and they are like SUPER models and *such* a joy to work with.   Seriously.  I was SO excited to see them through my lens again!

but this time… they brought along their new baby brother!!!!  And, he’s definately following in his siblings footsteps.  WOW is he handsome.

I’ll be back this weekend (promises, promises, i know…) but I’m going to do a BIG post and attempt to get better caught up with client peeks.  I owe lots of you, i know!

And i hope that the sweet S family is too…. Thanks for spending such a lovely evening with me!  And, by the way, i’m glad i got there a few minutes before we started shooting official portraits.  Because, well, its family moments like these that i personally hang on to in my mind of my family, and I love it when i can capture a few of them other families!

and about this next image –i’m SO drawn to images that tell stories… images that define, to me, the essence of childhood.  And i was so very delighted when i saw this image when i returned home from this session…

and lastly… the less than traditional family portrait… i just love it.  period.

So needless to say, this brand new baby boy is a pretty lucky guy to have such a great family to be born into!  And by the way, their little family consists of a Baby Boy W, a 15 month old sister, and a just barely 3 year old sister.  Yeah, and you thought your kids were close in age!

And i just love how sweet and peaceful Little Man W is  in this first shot…

First, and definately the silliest.  My honey’s aunt (center pic)  had a significant birthday [she turned 1578 - (2 x 759)].  So my cousin and i decided we needed to set up a photobooth at her rockin’ party  (my cousin is the top left pic – Hi SARA!).  And holy wow was it ridiculously fun, and i think all these shots are ones people wouldn’t mind my sharing.  Cause i KNOW there are some that people would NOT want on the internet, lol…

Oh.  And its summer.  Which means beach visits are MANDATORY.  And we got to go with cousins this time!  Going again in a few weeks.  Cannot.Wait.

And we were with The Grandparents for the 4th!  And i know, the center picture is well, less than in focus.  And i just don’t seem to mind.    And these pics were taken a few hours before i broke my foot.  By falling in front of a few hundred people.  Uh, yeah.  I did.   And yes, they cheered.

and a peek at a few portraits i have taken of  some of my favorite people over the last month…   and my oh-so-goofy 8 month old dog.
