I always take it seriously when I’m invited into a home to spend time with a brand new baby. We take pictures within the first 2 weeks of a new ones life, and to me, there is maybe no more magical a time in the life of a family. And for someone to invite me in to share and capture it, is a compete honor.

And meeting Mr. G and his parents was *absolutely* an honor. Their sense of humor, the intimate nature of their family…. was unique and beautiful. I enjoyed every minute i was there. And i adore the moments we captured…

And i can’t share from this session without mentioning the dogs. Because they were funny and fun, and i might just have to invite myself back over and do a dogs only session. Oh, and they have 5 dogs. And the last one they got wanna know what they call him? One Dog Too Many. Um, I’ve laughed about that many times since i left their home. And One Dog Too Many is featured below (and i do think he has a proper name… .

She is simply a lovely little thing. With a beautiful family to take care of her. I love the magic of a new family… oh yes i do….

I was honored to photograph this tiny girl and her mama (who is a fabulous photographer in town — Hi Natalie!) and i may have made her wait longer than i should have for this peek. But i know she’s been busy staring at the new little life she created. ::sigh:: And i have to start with one of my absolute fav’s…

and i have to share this next image. i think she was concerned that i might embarrass her. maybe. not sure. but i know she was concerned about SOMETHING.

and i wanted to finish with she and her sweet mama…

There is magic in the air around a brand new baby. Its a simple fact. Don’t over think it, don’t over analyze it. Just accept it. And drink it in. And i celebrate it every time i get to try to articulate that magic in an image.

I’m always honored to walk into the T Family’s home with my camera. They, and their girls, hold a special place in my heart. And i’m excited to introduce Miss S, one of the most perfect creatures i have ever met…

Oh, and i have to show you an image with her sister (whom my blog followers will definately know!) — and she is one of the other most perfect creatures i have ever met…

Busy week ahead! I have tons and tons of editing on my desk, so know i’ll be back posting more peeks soon!

Yes. She’s a lucky girl. Miss A has entered into such a lovely little family, and is *such* a beautiful little creature… You may remember the W family from this fall, and i was honored to be able to spend time again with them. Truly honored.

You are going to see more of this family later this year on my blog… but when mom had this sweet baby boy a couple of weeks ago, i just *had* to sneak over and grab a few images of Mr. R while he as still brand new. Or, at least, that’s what i told his mom. She didn’t realize it was just my ploy to get to meet, and dote over, her squishy new addition (who rounds out his family of 5 nicely!).

And i know, you’ve seen another variation on my blog of this shot before. BUT, this is the BEST door sign, ever. Right?!?

….or did i mean to write Catch UP? I think it was catch up… This might be my biggest client blog EVER. Some of these peeks are just to share as the clients have already seen their images and some are true sneak peeks!

First, this little family is so sweet, and settling in beautifully as a family of four. Their daughter has quickly become friends of my girls, and i always love when i get to transition clients into friends! Thanks to the L Family for inviting me in and being such wonderful clients… and friends!

And this next session was with the Littlest Hero’s Project , which is an organization i’ve been involved with for quite some time. And it has let me to many beautiful families and children. Miss T was no exception, and i so enjoyed my morning with her! We were rocking out in a field (while she watched her mother and i make fools of ourselves!) to her favorite Pandora station on her mom’s Blackberry (and in case you wondered, i LURV Pandora and my favorite 2 stations at the moment are G Love and Glen Hansard & Marketa Irglova ).

And this little man was so sweet….. and… FAST. Toddlers tend to be fast. Like, REALLY fast, lol…. When he was reading to me, he kept handing me books to read to him. And well, his books are written in Mandarin, so i was of little to no help to him!

And i have to finish with a family shot that i just love. Really love. And they haven’t seen this version yet. But i’m delivering the print of it to them tomorrow, so don’t tell them you saw it first, ok? I’m also practicing my incomplete sentences. How am. I doing?

Miss J is suuuuuuch a tiny beauty. Absolutely positively one of the most beautiful creatures I have ever had the privilege of photographing. And she was such a sweet content little girl too. The kind of newborn that makes you think (even if just momentarily) that, hummmm, maybe i could, maybe i want another…

If i still know how to read a calendar correctly, its almost MAY? wow, I’m behind on posting. Many sessions have gone un-blogged that are now signed, sealed, and delivered. sigh.

My new puppy is, well, not really so new anymore. And the time when i wanted to give her back is in the past (ok, not DISTANT past, but its in the past). We are down a few flip flops at the Hopkins house, and well, the rugs will recover with some professional assistance… and maybe I’ll get around to blogging just about her soon. I will. I promise. Probably. Surely, i Will……

BUT, i had to share a few from this session (which is very nearly done being edited)… Its from a fabulous newborn baby boy. And you know how sometimes you walk into a space and you know all is well and balanced… well — when i walked into the home of this family, i knew everything was as it should be. They are comfortably in love, acknowledge and tackle the hills that having a new baby presents, and drink up each moment. I very much enjoyed my time with them. Thanks Mom and Dad…. and here are a few of your beautiful little man. And i ‘saw’ this shot as soon as i walked into their house and i LOVE how it turned out!

oh, and i LOVE silly shots like this. so i have to share it!
